In this event, the Women’s Research Engineer’s Network formally launched the network. We introduced the culture, education system and university structure of Australia and Brazil with invited guest speakers Associated Professor Montse Ros and Professor Roseli de Deus Lopes.

A/Prof. Montse Ros is the Associate Dean of Education in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences at the University of Wollongong. Her background is in Computer Systems Engineering, in particular, embedded sensor systems. In 2016, she was named UOW’s Woman of Impact for having “inspired countless young women to consider a future career in STEM disciplines”.

Prof. Roseli de Deus Lopes is the Deputy Director of the Institute of Advanced Studies at University of São Paulo’s Polytechnic School. She is the Coordinator of the Scientific Initiation Program at the Dean’s Office for Research and the Vice-Coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Center in Interactive Technologies.
