WREN’s Researchers Tinder – BR Edition

You are invited to join a transformative event in the field of engineering research – WREN’s Researchers Tinder – BR Edition, organized by the Women’s Research Engineers Network (WREN). As part of the celebrations for International Women in Engineering Day on June 23rd, we aim to promote ‘matches’ between women researchers in the engineering field and help them establish research partnerships

Event Objective:

The main objective of WREN’s Researchers Tinder is to promote “matches” between women researchers in engineering, aiming to establish short, medium, and long-term partnerships. We seek to formalize these collaborations through joint articles and projects registered with funding agencies, thereby strengthening the presence and influence of women in the field of engineering research.

Event Format:

This event will be held entirely online on two Friday afternoons to ensure accessibility and convenience for all participants.

• First Friday, June 28th, 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM – Research Speed Dating: In the first week, participants will have the opportunity to engage in “speed dating” sessions. On an interactive virtual platform, researchers will be paired for brief conversations where they will present their research topics, future visions, and common interests. Upon finding their “matches,” participants will be encouraged to deepen their conversations and explore real collaboration routes, including co-supervisions, joint work, and multi-institutional research project submissions.
• Second Friday, July 5th, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM – Forum on Writing and Submitting Research Projects: In the second week, we will have an informative lecture and an interactive Zoom discussion. Participants can learn and share valuable tips on writing and submitting successful funding proposals to agencies and companies. This forum aims to increase the success rate of current and future projects coordinated by women.

Target Audience:

This event is exclusively for women (cis and trans) currently involved in engineering research, such as PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, professors, and industry professionals. We aim to promote an inclusive research community and strengthen the network of women researchers across the engineering field, increasing our presence as professors in graduate programs and CNPq researchers (PQs), among other prestigious positions traditionally imbalanced in gender.
