The Women’s Research Engineers Network is established to support women in engineering.
The Women’s Research Engineers Network is established to support women in engineering, with a vision for equity in the engineering research community from early to mid and senior academic levels.

December 2020

Received the COALAR 2020-21 Special Grant
A one off DFAT funding round run in place of the usual annual COALAR grants, created because the normal 2020–21 round was postponed due to COVID-19. It supported Australia–Latin America projects that could be delivered between April and September 2021, focused on economic recovery and designed to be feasible through digital/remote collaboration

Received TMIA – AAS fund
The Australian Academy of Science congratulates the grant recipients of the Theo Murphy Initiative (Australia) (TMIA) grant funding for the 2024–25 round.

3rd WREN annual symposium
The Women’s Research Engineers Network (WREN) proudly presented the WREN Symposium 2025, taking place online on May 20-21, 2025. This free, international, and multidisciplinary event brang together researchers, practitioners, and students to share knowledge, foster collaboration, and contribute to the global efforts towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
