Prof. Vera Lúcia Arantes

Prof. Vera Lúcia Arantes is received a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering from Federal University of São Carlos in 1991, followed by a Master in Materials Engineering and PhD in Materials Science and Engineering in the Federal University of São Carlos in 1999. She is currently an Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo, São Carlos School of Engineering (SCSE/USP), in the Department of Materials Engineering. She has experience in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, with emphasis on processing of ceramic materials. Her key research interests are sintering process, functionally graded materials, ceramics for cutting tools, composites of ceramic matrix, cermets (ceramic/metal composites), covalent ceramics, high energy milling and teaching engineering.
